Aubrey's Class Valentines

Lollipop Flower Valentines. Perfect for 2 year olds.
I first saw them here on pinterest.

I used 3 mini cupcake liners, a small lollipop, and green cardstock for the leaf.

To assemble, I folded 2 of the cupcake liners in half and put them on the lollipop. I opened up the 3rd liner fully and slid that on. And the leaf to finish it off.

I did use a small hole punch on the liners and the leaf before assembling. You can also use some Glue Dots if you want everything to stay put and not wiggle around.

Here's a link to the cupcake liners that I used: Petal Cupcake Liners

I found mine at my local baking/cake shop. I'm sure you can find them at Michael's craft store too.

Felt Heart Door Decoration Tutorial

Here's a project you can make this weekend!

I've seen some of these type door decorations on Pinterest. I used them for inspiration but didn't use a specific tutorial. I usually just "wing it". : ) But for you non-wingers, here is a tutorial on how I made mine.

This craft is very inexpensive. I used a cardboard box, paint (which is optional), felt, hot glue, and ribbon. I used my nice wool blend felt but they sell felt sheets for 25 cents at your local craft store.

I painted my cardboard red so if I had some gaps in between the felt it wouldn't be so obvious.

I should also add that I glued a ribbon loop to the back so I could hang it on the door. One more note, my heart is about 13 inches tall.

Have fun!

Baby Quilt

Exciting news, I have a new niece! : )
Thankfully, I finished sewing all the goodies for her room in time!
Here's the baby quilt I made to coordinate with the crib skirt.

I used long strips of fabric to construct the quilt.
Nothing fancy but still super cute.

Now I just need to take a trip so hold the new little baby.

Blue Velvet Cupcakes

I had a customer ask for a blue velvet cupcake order.
I guess they are pretty popular. I've never tried one before.
It might need to be my next baking adventure. : )

Here are some extra cupcakes I made for the shop.

Rapunzel

And last but not least...Rapunzel. This was the easiest pattern out of the three. So if you are feeling inspired and want to try sewing costumes, I recommend this one (pattern link at the bottom of this post).

Now, she wants a long yarn wig to go with the dress...I'll probably give in and make her one. The madness continues.

Anywoo, here's the final line up and links:

Sale in the Shop!

I wanted to stop by and let you know that I'm having my first ever sale in the Etsy shop. I'm clearing off some shelf space for some great new foods coming soon! : )

Ariel

It's a toss up for my favorite. Either the Cinderella or this one, Ariel.
I love the shimmery fins and all the different colors.

 The fin.
She wanted to pose like a mermaid.
Love it!

Cinderella

My daughter, like most girls, loves the Disney Princesses. I decided for Christmas presents I would sew her some new costume dresses. It took everything inside me not to give them to her once I finished them! I am happy to report they made it to Christmas morning as a surprise!

I have the 3 different dresses to show you this week.

Can you guess the first princess? : )

Of course, Cinderella needs a pair of glitter shoes (from Walmart, no less - $12). : )

The glittery tulle, the puffy sleeves, the shoes...Success!

Felt Flower Hair Pin Tutorial

I was asked to do a tutorial for the Poinsettia Felt Flower I did for the 12 days of Christmas crafts. But since I didn't get to it before Christmas, here's the same flower
just different colors. : )

Supplies: E-6000 glue, a hair bobby pin, 2 felt leaves (about 2" long), 3 felt flowers (2 to 2.5" inches long), a felt rectangle (1.5" x 2.5" long), needle, thread, scissors.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I sure did! It was a great break from the normal daily routine. I did lots of sleeping in, eating lots of yummy goodies, and hanging out with the family.

Here's to a new year of great crafts and new felt food. Hopefully, I'll do a lot better with the blog too. : )

Over the Christmas break, I received an order for some conversation hearts. Heather, from twocraftymamas, is using them as decorations to her beautiful knit hats.

Adorable, right?
These hats have sold already but if you want one, contact Heather. I know she takes custom orders. What perfect little hats for babies!
