Weekly Project #10: Crib Skirt

I had a "Aha!" moment lying in bed one night to personalize the baby's crib skirt. I just loved the idea. It ended up being my favorite item in her room.

I made the crib skirt using a twin flat sheet and the letters are from regular cotton fabric. I didn't take any pictures of the process but I will number them out for you.

1. Print off the name/letters from the computer. I used WordArt on Microsoft Office to make them the size I wanted. I think I put 2 letters on one 8.5x11" sheet of paper. Cut out the letters.
2. Using a double sided Heat Bond paper, I ironed on the cotton fabric I was going to use to the top side of the heat bond paper. Then I traced the letter onto the fabric and cut them out.
3. Peel the backing off the backside of the Heat Bond paper and iron them onto the crib skirt (placing them exactly where you want to go).
4. I did a zig-zag stitch (using the sewing machine) around all the letters.
5. Voila!
