Get ready for lots of pictures! As always, if you have any questions please leave them in the comments. Just a few notes as we go. I used the Silhouette machine that cut all the butterflies out for me...so easy that way. The Pottery Barn Kids butterfly mobile has pink leaves draped on it. You can find something similar in SugarpinkBoutique: found here. The metal hoop I used is a Darice Brass Metal Ring (12"): link here.
The paper piercer is from Making Memories: link here.
Cut out about 12 strands from your thread - about 2 1/2 feet long. Longer or shorter depending on how you would like you mobile to look. You can also make more or less strands of butterflies depending on how "full" you want your mobile to be. 
Now you can temporarily hang up your mobile and evenly tie your butterfly strings around. Trim the extra string off the top. If you desire, you can place a drop of glue on the strings and the metal so they won't move around.
Now hang from the ceiling!

ReplyDeleteIDK if anyone has mentioned it, but you can use a thick piece of fun foam from Michael's to put under your object that you are piercing. This is lovely, and your little girl is beautiful (if that is your own)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I am halfway finished making one right now. By the way, I had the silhouette cut a small circle in the center of each butterfly rather than needing to use a punch. It's worked out perfectly!
